Martha's 10 Years Old Tawny Port is amber brown in appearance. Its multidimensional aroma field contains especially dried fruits, dates and nutty and toasty aromas. The mouthfeel is sweet and full-bodied. Fresh acidity balances the rich palette of flavours. Very long, lingering aftertes.
Martha's Porto farm is located in Peso da Régua, lower area of Baixo Corgo, in the Douro River Valley, where the soil is granite and slate. Traditional Douro grapes have been used in the production of port wine: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela and Tinta Roriz. Port wine has been matured as its name suggests for 10 years in oak. Martha's Porto is a Port wine producer from Douro for the sixth generation. The family's history with port wines began as early as 1727 and boasts one of the oldest, still family-owned port wine houses. The space is known especially for its old tawny gates. They receive annual prestige and honour in national and international wine competitions.
10-year-old tawny port wines are a mixture of ripened wines of different ages. As a rule, they are lighter and more accessible than vintage port wines. The old tawas are ready to be consumed and therefore do not heal in the bottle.
