Winemaker Notes
One of Chablis most famous and largest Premier Crus. Fourchame contains 4 other Premier Cru vineyards within its boundaries – from North to South they are L’Homme Mort, Vaupulent, Cote de Fontenay and Vaulorent. The soils in Fourchame are like those of the Grand Cru vineyards composed of the same chalky, limestone rich Kimmeridgian soils. This results in rounded lemon flavors fresh in minerality with a unique voluptuous quality.

An abundance of Chablis typicity is present on the aromas of mineral reduction, white orchard fruit, citrus zest and tidal pool. There is again very good volume and density to the medium-bodied flavors that are unusually powerful for Fourchaume, all wrapped in a lemony and almost salty finish. This is quite promising and particularly so for a négociant offering.

Quite a lot of weight here. A tad overripe perhaps? Less precision than the other wines so far. Big, powerful example of Fourchaume. Loads of acidity to keep everything fresh, should age well, perhaps not in quite such an elegant way.

Almost glowing translucent lime green yellow. Not quite the nobility but there is significant intensity. A little spice at the finish, avoids sucrosity but does show a touch of heat.
