The terroir of Château Rauzan-Gassies lies exclusively on the glacial gravel of Margaux and Cantenac, overlooking the Gironde river. The excellent drainage of this soil makes it ideal for an elite vineyard. The gravel along the river is a sanctuary for Margaux vineyards, that were already reputed in the Middle Ages. All the Château Rauzan-Gassies terroirs are part of the "Historical Margaux", and were planted with vines long before 1855.
The second wine of Château Rauzan-Gassies, this textured release is dominated by the black-currant fruits of Cabernet Sauvignon. Tannins and acidity give structure to a wine that is just ready to drink
