Chateau Haut-Pezat of Saint Emilion present this Grand Cru Bordeaux. Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes are grown in the finest vineyards with gravelly-sandy soils. Initial cold maceration is followed by long fermentation and then a second, hot maceration for exceptional body. Full malolactic fermentation. The wine is finally aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
Garnet red with purple hues in colour, this wine shows intense aromas of ripe plum, damson, raspberry and sweet spice. The plummy, rich and velvety palate has soft tannins and a long, elegant finish. Exceptional longevity, this wine can develop for up to 15 years in bottle. Try with grilled beef steak, mushroom sauces, lamb chops or soft cheeses.
Chateau Haut-Pezat in the Saint Emilion appellation is one of the finest estates of family winemakers Vignobles Dulon who have been winemaking for 250 years. Purchased by them in 2013, the Haut-Pezat estate vineyards and wines are acknowledged as some of the finest in Bordeaux, with the prestigious Grand Cru classification awarded.
