Tenute Pieralisi Description

IMPERO MONTE SCHIAVO

Rosso Piceno is rarely counted among the great Italian red wines but the King of Ras has all the credentials to enter this list. The nose reveals an abundance of fruity notes (plum, ripe cherry), supported in the mouth by robust but fine tannins, alcohol, acidity and concentration of aromas. The fruity finish, extraordinarily wide and long, heralds a perfect maturation in the bottle in the next two to three years even if you can enjoy it with pleasure immediately. My advice: it's worth the wait!

– Nicolas Belfrage MW

RED PICENO DOC

Re di Ras is a dialect name of the "Scricciolo" in the Marche region. This cute little bird, which is often seen in our vineyards, is considered in popular tradition the King of birds. In fact, legend has it that to decree who the king was, a competition was called to see which bird flew higher and, thanks to cunning, the wren managed to beat the eagle. We chose this metaphor because we think that our small production of Rosso Piceno "Re di Ras" can compete in quality with the great Italian red wines.
