The grapes of the most classic red wine from Valtellina are dried in the air by the Alpine winds for about 2 months after the harvest. L'Infinito shows a fresh and almost mentholated side of the Nebbiolo grape which adds momentum and brightness to the bouquet. Soon after these spicy herbaceous notes, the wine dives into darker fruit of blackcurrant, wild plum and pressed rose. This wine offers an exciting and unexpected range of flavors that highlight its unique personality, which can only be achieved in this form with the Nebbiolo grape from the Italian Alps. As the wine settles on the palate, there is also a subtle sweetness that comes from the drying process, completing it like a distinctive classic. Be sure to aerate before enjoying!
Made with air-dried grapes, Tenuta Scerscé's 2018 Nebbiolo Infinito Sforzato di Valtellina opens with a medium-dark color and moderate fruit weight that feels velvety, rich, and open. certainly gives greater weight and intensity, but the Nebbiolo grape never loses its interior grace and poise. Aromas of dried rose, wild cherry, plum and sweet earth emerge from the bouquet. A layer of seasoned tobacco gives the wine a sensation of greater pulpiness.
Liquorice with sweet and candied strawberries, box spices and creme de cassis. A very tasty Nebbiolo with a brighter palate than the nose, rounded off by creamy, powdery tannins in a firm and slightly austere context.
