Vintage
2019 was a beautiful vintage. Hot, dry weather during the late summer/early fall led to
raisoning in most of our varietals. This helped concentrate flavors and sugar levels as the
grapes ripened - yielding rich, age-worthy wines,

Winemaker's Notes
Black currant and kirsch combine with violet and lavender aromatics. Toasty French oak
enhances the sturdy tannins in this structured blend from an excellent vintage.

Vineyard
The 2019 Meritage is 100% Estate fruit. Stinson Farms vines are cane pruned and close
spaced on Braddock soil - a loamy red clay derived from crystalline rocks that make up
the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west.

Label
The 2019 Meritage features original art by local sketch artist Jessie Chapman, who
perfectly translated the label for this wine into into an ode to pre-Covid summers and
tailgates past. which at the time of bottling seemed like a distant dream.
