100% Vernaccia. 2019 is the first vintage for this wine, which is part of Silvio Messana’s new small-project négoce line (bottled under his rather than the Montesecondo estate name and in clear glass with a crown cap). The grapes came from an organic vineyard in San Gimignano, planted on sandy clay and gravel soils and harvested by hand. The whole clusters were crushed by foot and macerated for 10 days before being pressed off. The juice was fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged 8 months in concrete tanks. A touch of sulfur was added only at bottling, which takes place without fining or filtering. "Garnaccia" is an historic synonym for Vernaccia
