Since it is picked early, before we are busy making the other wines we have ample time to focus on coaxing out all of the subtle complexity residing in the grapes. we employ a multitude of regimens to various sub-lots picked over the course of about three weeks and end up making about eight unique wines which are blended to create our three Sauvignon Blanc releases.
Tasting Notes
This wine leads with the aromas of lemon zest, wet river rocks and the slightest impression of fresh cut grass. The palate is bright and lively redolent of lemon meringue and hints of white pepper.
Vineyard Notes
Owned by the Eakle family, pope Valley Winery is located in the northeastern hills just beyond Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. Our 80 planted acres yield distinctive wines characteristic of our Pleasanton loam and Bressa-Dibble complex soil.
