RNDC
Sourced from two distinct vineyards in the Sonoma Coast AVA, this
Chardonnay features citrus, mineral and acidity notes from Keller, with plush
tropical fruit flavors from the Reis Vineyard. Individual lots were fermented and
aged in both barrel and stainless-steel tank before blending, lending to a
bouquet of lush, citrus fruit framed by spice and light butter aromas. Medium
in body and zippy on the palate, crisp flavors of lychee, grapefruit, Ka r lime
and peppery spice carry through the lasting finish.
Keller Estates
Located in the cool Petaluma Gap, Keller Estates is nearby the San Pablo Bay,
with mineral rich, clay soil. Planted with a very dense row and vine spacing, this
old Wente clone Chardonnay block is farmed organically without herbicides.
While each vine only yields a few pounds of fruit, the intense flavors and bright
acidity in the glass is unprecedented. This vineyard is harvested at night to
ensure the grapes arrive at the winery nice and cool.
Reis
Planted on the famed Goldridge soil of the Russian River, the Reis vineyard sits
on a ridge about 9 miles from the coast. We were thrilled to discover the high
quality of these Chardonnay vines, due to the sun exposure, soil and
exceptional microclimate in the area.
