Notes from the Winemaker
Alegre Gran Corte is a blend of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The grapes come from different estates. Odisea with 15 hectares is located in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo at 950 meters above sea level. Los Hermanos with 30 hectares is in Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo at 992 meters above sea level. Los Barrancos is situated in Vista Flores, Tunuyán. This estate with 35 hectares is at 977 meters above sea level.
The fermentation lasts 15 days with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks at 22 - 26 °C ; the maceration 35 days and the aging 18 months.
Red color. The vibrant aromatics are driven by plum, dry fruit and minty notes on the nose. On the palate the wine is balanced with good acidity. This medium-bodied blend shows herbal, spicy and fruity notes with a unique complexity. Ideal to pair with spicy and aromatic haute cuisine, legumes, red meats, duck and pork.
