A liter of alluringly drinkable yet rustic red from a biodynamic winery in Veneto. Monte dall’Ora is most widely known as a producer of hearty Valpolicella and Amarone wines, but this is a lighter table wine, of the sort they’d make for drinking at their own dinner table regularly. The vineyards are trained in the old fashioned Pergola style which they find has natural advantages in the sunny climate of the region. 60% Corvinone and 40% Molinara, the grapes were hand harvested and destemmed, and lightly pressed using only free run juice. A short 5 to 6 day maceration, aged in cement tanks. Native yeasts fermentation, no filtering or fining, nothing added save a small sulfites dose for stability.
