Light amber color. The aroma is complex, with notes of nutmeg, honey and a citric hint. The palate is elegant and velvety, this wine grows in the mouth.
The 1977 Colheita Port was bottled in 2016 with a long cork and 117 grams per liter of residual sugar. This year is a great vintage year, of course, but that does not always follow through to Tawnies. This is still lovely, though, laced with a bit of brandy on the finish but not showing a lot of concentration or power. It does have complexity, but perhaps less tension than the 20-year-old Tawny reviewed this issue. It is still a fine experience?he molasses, brandy and baked caramel mingling nicely?ut just don't assume it's fantastic merely because it is a 1977. Finally, as I like to remind people, these last indefinitely but do not need aging. Don't drink it too warm (more like around 58-62 degrees Fahrenheit).
