Mandolin was founded in 2000 by Phillip Zorn and Brent Shortridge to serve as the instrument of California’s Central Coasts’ viticultural bounty. Just as a mandolin is known for serenading with radiant tones, Mandolin’s wines delight with brilliant fruit and resounding finish.
Currently Mandolin produces internationally known wines - an Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi, as well as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Santa Lucia Highlands, Arroyo Seco, and Hames Velley. Well established relationships with Monterey County grape growers lend to Mandolin’s signature sense of place and balance, along with the long growing season’s subsequent grapes with loaded fruit flavor and optimal acidity.
With its maritime influence, California's Monterey region has an extended growing season that yields wines with full flavor development and great acid balance. Mandolin Pinot Noir has spice, ripe cherry, and savory tones on the nose. It is medium-bodied with polished tannins, showing strawberry and mineral notes.
