Most of our Premier Cotes are located in Courthezon. The vineyard revolves around a large clay-limestone diluvium, large pebbles on different exposures (south, south-west, north-east). The dominant Mistral allows a reasoned approach to the vines, the average age of which is around 50 years. The grape variety is mainly composed of Grenache with a few scattered plots of Syrah and Mourvedre. Premiere Cote finds its origins in these vines which represented for the elders of the village the highest quality of the wines available on the market place of the commune. Vinification: Integral de-stemming then fermentation in very large and very open concrete vats to allow infrequent but in-depth work in order to organize the fruit around a small matrix of very fine tannins in the Burgundian sense while preserving its original freshness. Each grape variety is worked separately on important maturities then assembled after the malolactic fermentations.
