Winemaker Notes
The wine shows deep ruby red in glass, and gives off an effusive nose of broad cherry, sweet spice, maybe cinnamon red hots, cranberry and orange. The attack is substantial and saline at that, revealing candied cherry, smoke, jerky and anise. The linear structure feels somehow the final sanding pass on a 70% cocoa chocolate bar.

What’s not to love about a reasonably priced, screw-capped Pinot Noir with elevated acidity and restrained alcohol? Sweet raspberry and violets are joined by a fresh, clean scent that’s either sunshine or lemon. The wine’s raspberry flavor is tarter, with notes of cedar and oatcakes adding interest sitting on a chalky texture.
