The fruit for this cuvée is from three vineyards in the Walnut Hill area, at the northern end of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA: Dubay, Three Angels, and Hirkamb. The lower-elevation Dubay vineyard gives a touch of lushness to the wine, whereas the adjacent but slightly higher-elevation Three Angels vineyard gives it a solid structure. The Lumière has a silky texture and dark fruits layered with fine tannins and perfectly balanced acidity. This was a cooler vintage and the conditions produced wines with moderate alcohol and bright acidity, which for us is the style that best shows the delicacy, finesse and subtlety that we are looking for in this noble variety. These are beautifully balanced wines that will age well.
