The Grain de Sénevé "Roue Libre" is from a 2 hectare parcel of 40 year-old vines on granite soils, whole cluster fermentaion with wild yeasts, no SO2 added. The wine shows a medium red/garnet color with very pretty earthy raspberry and strawberry aromas, bright and floral with plum and rose petal. Pleasantly light at 12.5% alc, the palate shows vivid, earthy berry fruits with hints of geosmine, anise and citrus. The fruit gains weight and purity with time open, finishing with firm granitic acidity. This is a lovely natural Beaujolais, delicious now and should develop nicely over a few years in the cellar.
