Winemaker Notes
Obtained from Sangiovese grapes, the must ferments in steel, then 50% of the wine matures in french oak barriques and 50% in cement tanks, followed by a further 3 months in bottle before release. The wine is smooth, fruit-rich, and delicious, with supple, well-balanced tannins.

As with the other two wines presented from Gagliole, the 2020 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is entirely produced from Sangiovese. It is the most lifted and red-fruited of the three wines, and has aromas of candied strawberry, raspberry, crushed roses, and licorice. It is medium bodied and approachable, with silky tannins, juicy red berries, and pleasant refreshment without austerity.

A vibrant, well-defined red, with cherry, raspberry, floral and mineral flavors fused to a linear profile and firm structure. A bit austere still, yet the lasting impression is ripe fruit. Drink now through 2028.
