Situated on the banks of the Barbanne river which separates Lalande from Pomerol, this is some of the finest terroir and one of the best performing properties in the appellation. This medium-bodied red displays a fantastic structure with lovey fine tannins that provide plenty of structural backbone. A supple, sensual red Bordeaux with instant appeal and a long path of pleasure ahead.

You might also expect a stratospheric price tag. But that’s the only part of the Pomerol experience that you don’t get with Enclos de Viaud’s Lalande de Pomerol! Despite its incredible vineyard location, and winemaking duties helmed by Jerome Aguirre (the 2016 bested even $5,000-Petrus in a blind tasting!).
Two tiny parcels tucked away on prized gravelly soils... Hand-picked harvesting of only the riperst, purest Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes… Aging in premium new and once-used oak barrels… All under the meticulous auspices of a 100-point winemaker? This is what we’d expect from Pomerol, the darling of Bordeaux’s celebrated Right Bank on the Gironde.
