The 2019 La Tour Figeac is a very pretty, expressive wine. Bright floral notes, espresso, rose petal and cinnamon top notes from the Cabernet Franc give La Tour Figeac its distinctive aromatic signatures. Time in the glass brings out a whole range of red-toned fruits. Medium in body, gracious and supremely elegant, La Tour Figeac is hugely promising. There is a purity to Franc here that is just remarkable.

I loved the 2018, and the 2019 Château La Tour Figeac is certainly in the same ballpark, revealing a deep purple hue, notes of blackcurrants, mulberries, spice, and chocolate, medium to full body, and a great finish. Enjoy this meaty, rich, mouthfilling Saint-Emilion over the coming 15 years.

The deep garnet-purple colored 2019 La Tour Figeac sails out of the glass with exuberant notes of fresh blueberries, black raspberries and Morello cherries plus suggestions of allspice, cinnamon toast, sandalwood and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers thirst-quenching freshness with a pinch of spicy opulence, framed by plush and approachable tannins, finishing with great length.

Red fruit, spice and walnuts here. Full body, firm tannins and a flavorful finish. Ripe and juicy.

A little subdued, this has a high tannin count, at least in terms of how it feels on the attack. As it opens, there is some lovely bright spice notes, both pepper and wild herbs, along with blueberry fruits and silky liquorice. Enjoyable. A yield of 37hl/ha, aged in a mix of 225l oak barrels (50% new oak), 400l oak barrels and amphoras - with the aim of decreasing oak influence while keeping the added structure that it brings. Drinking Window 2024 - 2036.
