Blackcurrant, plum, pepper, menthol, floral touch, the 2020 of the cru lacks neither nuances nor elegance on the olfaction, which was already hinted at by its beautiful, deep and intense colour. The palate is in tune: fruit, spices, a lot of freshness, fine tannins well set in an ample and suave flesh, persistence. A complete and complex Haut-Médoc, which is far from having revealed everything.

Ch. The Lagoon: The Winemaker

A Premier Cru Classé encountered by visitors arriving from Bordeaux via the Médoc wine route, this château was bought in 2000 by Jean-Jacques Frey, a businessman who already owned prestigious houses in Champagne and the Rhône Valley. Renowned for its long history, La Lagune combines an elegant eighteenth-century ChartreuseeS., superb cellars, a vast vineyard (110 hectares, 75 of which are for fine fine sandy gravel) and a terroir of choice – fine sandy gravel. All these assets are highlighted by a dynamic team led by Caroline Frey, daughter of the owner and oenologist of the estate since 2004. The estate has been certified organic since the 2016 vintage.
