PLANT
Farmed organically since the 90's and ECOCERT certified in 1997, Casa de Mouraz was the first biodynamic winery in the Dao. Antonio Lopes Ribeiro and Sara Dionisio, refugees from the Lisbon art world, farm 30 acres of indigenous varieties. The grapes for their Tinto, from their granite-laden vineyards, are fermented spontaneously and are aged on their lees in both steel tanks and large used French oak barrels.

Pair deeply fruited Dao reds with grilled, braised or roasted dishes. Beefy burgers, slow-cooked pork, red wine and soy sauce-simmered Baby Bellas or seared duck breast in a blackberry pan sauce all fit the bill.
