The 2021 edition of The Dude is again a compelling blend of fruit from, amazingly, Calistoga, Coombsville, Rutherford, and Howell Mountain. The varietal mix is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cab Franc, 12% Merlot, and 9% Malbec. The finished wine spent 16 months in 50% New French oak cooperage. The wine is a bigger more electric wine than the 2020 but more refined than the 2019. In short, the best Dude yet!
