Borgogno Description

Impero

Borgogno's "No Name" Nebbiolo embodies a journey through the history and innovation of winemaking, blending respect for tradition with a touch of creative rebellion. Born in the fertile lands of the Barolo region, this Langhe Nebbiolo stands out for the pure essence of its grapes, favored by a unique terroir of calcareous and clayey marl that imparts unparalleled complexity and richness to the wine. Care and precision dominate every stage of its creation, from manual harvesting to natural fermentation in imposing cement tanks, evolving through refined aging in Slavonian oak barrels. This process, exceeding two years, instills in the wine a structural robustness combined with velvety refinement. Visually captivating, its ruby red color, enriched with violet hues, foreshadows an intense and multifaceted olfactory experience, where the bouquet of violet and rose intertwines with notes of fresh fruit and spicy accents. On the palate, it reveals itself with a bold yet balanced character, offering a full and harmonious tasting experience, embellished by generous austerity. Its exceptional versatility makes it the ideal companion for a wide variety of dishes, from hearty meat stews to the most refined preparations of Piedmontese tradition, without neglecting bolder pairings with international cuisine. Its ability to embrace intense flavors and elaborate sauces confirms it as an excellent choice to enrich any meal with a touch of elegance and depth.

Borgogno is an institution in the wine world, with roots dating back to 1761 in the Langhe region of Piedmont. This historic winery has traversed centuries of Italian wine history, significantly contributing to the development of Barolo, known as the "King of Wines." Cesare Borgogno's innovative vision in the 1920s, which expanded production and began exporting wines abroad, positioned Borgogno as an international reference point in the wine industry. Today, Borgogno manages 39 hectares of land, 31 of which are vineyards, with cultivations ranging from indigenous varieties such as Nebbiolo, the protagonist of their renowned Barolo, to minor varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Riesling, and Timorasso, the latter being the focus of a revitalization project. Borgogno's philosophy, which combines respect for tradition with an eye for sustainability and innovation, is reflected in its wines, appreciated both for their traditional style and long-term aging potential, making them favorites among Italian wine enthusiasts and collectors.
