If the Boars’ View Estate Pinot Noir is the showboat wine in the Boars’ View collection, the Boars’ View BDR Pinot Noir acts as the brooding dark star. Its profile, especially in good growing seasons like 2022, exhibits a more austere quality that harkens more to old-world Pinot Noir. It’s a wine that favors more structure, more tense fruit appeal, mineral over flesh. And with that comes many joys in the form of pomegranate and crushed flint on the nose. The palate is tightly packed with notes of cranberry compote, quince, and wild strawberry.
